“Scale”
When we try to handle these things on an individual basis and they’re issues that are actually happening at a national scale or global scale, the scale is skewed so one of the things we do see happening is the emergence of a lot of mental and emotional well being issues… we see this rise of of terms like “compassion fatigue” or “eco anxiety” being now recognized by the American Psychological Association & the Canadian Psychological Association… These are real issues that people face when they have a sense of despair about the state of the planet and about their own well being. What becomes really important is being able to see what’s happening at the appropriate scale, so that you can lessen that pressure on yourself instead of feeling like it’s all sitting on your shoulders.
